Interview mit Playlogic zum Spiel Obscure: The Aftermath
PSP Artikel vom 27.11.2009
![]() Deutsch | English PlaystationPortable.de: Can you introduce yourself and tell us more about the team behind Obscure: The Aftermath. What have you done before? Poria Torkan: I am Poria Torkan, producer for Playlogic on Obscure: The Aftermath. I worked on Fairytale Fights (360, PS3), Age of Pirates 2: City of Abandoned Ships (PC), the previous Obscure 2 sku’s and various other titles. Hydravision Is a very talented developer located in France. They are known for the Obscure franchise as well as the Atari game Alone in the Dark (Wii and PS2 versions). PlaystationPortable.de: Why did you decide to bring the game to the PSP? Poria Torkan: We felt that the platform was ideal for our game since there was a lack of this genre on the PSP. At launch of the PS2/Wii versions we did not have the technical ability to bring the game to the psp with the quality that we had in mind. Luckily within a few months the amazing programmers as Hydravision managed to push the PSP to its limits. You will find that Obscure: the Aftermath is one of the “prettiest” looking games on the PSP. PlaystationPortable.de: Many Publishers have troubles withe the German Rating Board “USK”. Any problems to get a T-Rating for the game? Poria Torkan: No not really, I actually went over to the USK headquarters in Berlin for Obscure: The Aftermath. The people working there understood and appreciated the “cheekyness” of the game. ![]() We already met Poria Torkan (left) at Gamescom 2009. PlaystationPortable.de: A big problem on the PSP is the piracy issue – what were your experiences with this? Poria Torkan: I hope that people who are interested in the game will buy it. I think it is difficult to say what percentage of the people who pirate games would otherwise have actually bought them. So it’s difficult to say. PlaystationPortable.de: Obscure: The Aftermath had a simultanous release on UMD and in the PSN-Store – do you think the download services will replace physical discs in near future? Poria Torkan: Eventually yes. I don’t think this will the case in the very near future though. A lot of people like to have tangible stuff such as boxes and manuals. IMO PlaystationPortable.de: Are there plans to bring other games to the PSP? Poria Torkan: That’s something I am not allowed to disclose at present. ![]() PlaystationPortable.de: Is there anything you would like to tell our readers? Poria Torkan: I hope that you will enjoy the game. We had a lot fun making it. The interview was held by Jakob Koch for PlaystationPortable.de Thanks to Poria Torkan for his kind support.
